Stay Updated with Our New Email Notifications

This past week, I have been working hard on setting up an email notifications system with MailPoet. I have spent an hour working on the copy and designing the forms. Septembered is pretty much custom-built, expanding on a standard WordPress template.

Why I’ve Added Email Notifications

Septembered is a side project or hobby for me; I love sharing what I have learned and created. I miss the days when I would produce materials for new teachers. However, I don’t have as much free time or energy to dedicate to the site. I’ve noticed that some visitors have been sharing their email addresses, which suggests there’s an interest in receiving notifications when new content is published.

How it works

You’ll find a simple sign-up form at the bottom of posts and some pages on the site. Just enter your name and email address, and MailPoet will do the rest for us. They do some magic with adding your name to the email when it’s sent; that’s the only reason we need your name, and of course, we need your email address to send the email. You’ll receive a welcome email when you sign up. After that, you will only get emails when I publish something new.

An email newsletter from Septembered.org thanks the reader for subscribing, lists upcoming updates like new tutorials and news, and includes website and social media links at the bottom.

What to expect

The system currently sends you a short paragraph from the post via email. If you’d like to read more, you can click the link and view the full article on the website. If you’re not interested in that post, you’re under no obligation to read it.
I’ve tried to keep things as straightforward as possible, without putting any pressure on you to visit the site. I do appreciate visitors, but I’d rather not be overwhelmed with spam, so I’m aiming to keep my emails to a minimum. I also understand that it can be frustrating to regularly visit the site and not find anything new.

Your Privacy

I want to be clear that this is purely for post notifications. I have no plans to use your information for marketing purposes, sell your data, or send any other types of communications. It’s simply a way for interested readers to know when new content is available.

I’m still learning how to optimise this system, so there may be adjustments along the way. As always, I welcome your feedback!

I don’t post often, but when I do, you’ll be the first to know. No spam – just the good stuff when it’s ready.

We don’t spam! Read our privacy policy for more info.
