New Game: Animal Sounds Farm

A cartoon farm scene with a cow, sheep, horse, pig, and chicken on green grass near a red barn, wooden fences, and a dirt path. "New Game," "Play," and a score of zero appear at the top.

One of the most-played games on this site is Animal Sounds: Pets, featuring household animals. I’ve used it successfully to encourage students to speak in class.

Moving to the Farm

Animal Sounds: Farm

I have had plans for a long time to build different versions of this sound recognition game. Another common theme when teaching young ESL students is farm animals. For the farm, I chose the animals.

  • sheep
  • horse
  • cow
  • chicken
  • pig

What’s new?

Replay the Sounds

The sound no longer repeats every 3 seconds. It will play once when a new animal is selected. From there, you can click the play sound button as many times as you want.

Streak Counter

I added a streak counter for those times when you want to see how many you can get correct in a row. The counter will reset to 0 when you click New Game or guess an animal incorrectly.

Play it Now
