Dog Race is a two-player tapper game that can be used as a reward or decision game in the classroom. It’s a fun way to teach running, racing, and competition.

  1. Click the play button to reset the game.
  2. Tap the button to move the dog. The blue button moves the blue dog, and the pink button moves the pink dog.
  3. The winner is the first dog to reach the bone.

This is a two-player tapper game. This was built for the classroom and is not as good as an online game. However, you can use it as a scoring game for online classes.

Notes and Credits

You can play and edit the game on Scratch at the following link:

It can be a fun game to play during breaks or as a way to determine a winner or reward. I have used it to teach running, racing, and competition.

A Scoring Game

Open this game while you engage in an off-screen activity. Divide the class into two teams and assign them a colour, pink or blue. Each time a team scores a point in class, move their dog one or two taps forward. As the dogs can only move forward, there is no way to remove a point when necessary. To compensate, give the other team a couple of extra points.

As Decision Game

This can also be used as an alternative to rock paper scissors. Two players tap at the board until one is the winner.
